James believes that collaboratively, the client and counsellor can create a warm connection for healing, hope, and wholeness.

Bio

James has 30 years of care giving experience with individuals, couples, and groups spanning communities of poverty to prosperity, collaboratively addressing life’s challenges to gradually grow by making sense of painful experiences. James counsels from a systemic perspective, marriage and family therapy orientation, targeting the client’s emotions in order to connect more satisfyingly with self and others as they gradually grow. James also explores and applies spirituality as it suits the client, especially lay and clergy leadership in order to increase in faith, hope and love.

Credentials, Training and Qualifications

James is a Regent College graduate with an M.Div., equipped in marriage and family therapy through ACTS Seminary. He is a Registered Clinical Counselor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselors. James specializes in Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy. He also uses Prepare & Enrich (marriage preparation/relationship evaluation) for couples seeking marriage or improving their marriage with the use of this relationship assessment tool.
